尊敬的女士们，先生们：
作为校长，我首先代表全校师生热烈欢迎各位专家光临北京市陈经纶中学。
北京市陈经纶中学是一所具有85年历史的学校。学校在朝阳区分为四个校区，分别设置小学、中学、高中，学校不仅融合了中国的12年基础教育，也顺畅地对青少年实施了全程的公民教育。我们认为，基础教育应该承担起对青少年进行公民教育的责任，一个国家只有不断地提升公民教育的水平，才能有效地提高全民族的素养。
现代化的北京，2008年将承办奥林匹克运动会，这为公民教育注入了新的内容。我校重新把对学生的公民教育定位在奥运背景下，努力把学生培养成为人格和智力健全、各方面全面发展的、具有国际视野和交往能力的地球公民。
我校公民教育的特点是突出实践性和自主性，让学生在丰富多彩的活动中形成公民必备的基本素养。我们培养的公民的基本途径包括：
1．通过以不同学科的课堂教学，使学生具备公民的基本知识和技能；
2．通过丰富多彩的校园教育活动，使学生在体验性活动中历练未来公民的基本素养；
3．通过广泛的社区活动，使学生接触社会、感悟人生，让学生在志愿服务活动中，逐渐形成公民意识；
4．通过国际交流和互访活动，使学生初步具备国际视野和国际交流的能力。
5．通过成人仪式，强化学生依法享有公民的权利和义务的意识。
我们将努力践行教育者的责任，实现陈经纶中学的育人目标，让每个学生成为我学、我想、我做、我行的全面和可持续发展的合格公民，为他们进入学习化社会奠定丰厚的人生基础。
Ladies and gentlemen,
As a principal, firstly I’d like to extend the warmest welcome
to you on behalf of all our teachers and students.
Beijing Chenjinglun High school has a history of 85 years. We
have four campuses in Chaoyang District now. We also have primary
branch school. The students here can go through the civic education
as well as the 12-year basic education. We believe that the basic
education should take the responsibility of carrying on civic education
on children. Only in this way can we improve people’s accomplishments.
The 2008 Olympics will be held in Beijing. Under this condition,
we focus more attention on civic education, aiming to make our students
global citizens who are concerned about the world and are good at
communication.
We hope to carry out civic education through various activities.
No. 1 Teach the students the basic conscience as a citizen through
the class.
No. 2 Help the students learn how to cooperate through colorful
campus activities
No. 3 Provide more chances for the students to get closer to the
society and experience more about life.
No. 4 Help the students learn more about the outside world through
international exchange.
No. 5 Strengthen the students’concience of the rights and obligations
endowed by law.
We will spare no pains to to take up responsibility as an educator.
We hope our students will learn, will think, will do, and will succeed.
